Ambassador Terms

Coverland Ambassador Program — Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Coverland Ambassador Program (the "Program"). These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your participation in the Program and your relationship with Coverland ("Coverland," "we," "us," or "our").

The Program offers two ways to participate: the Creator track, for approved content creators, and the Refer a Friend track, open to Coverland customers. In both cases the offer is the same: the person you refer gets 10% off their first order, and you earn 10% cash commission on that order. Unless a provision states that it applies to only one track, these Terms apply equally to both, and "Creator," "Affiliate," "you," and "your" refer to participants in either track.

By submitting an application to the Program, activating a referral link, or participating in it (including by sharing your unique referral link or discount code), you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms operate separately from, and in addition to, our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and the terms of service of our third-party affiliate platform, Social Snowball.

Important: These Terms contain a mandatory arbitration provision and class action waiver. By agreeing to these Terms, you accept that you must resolve any claim against Coverland on an individual basis in arbitration, as described in Section 17.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not participate in the Program.

1. Eligibility & Participation Tracks

To participate in either track, you must:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms;
  2. Reside in the United States or Canada;
  3. Not be subject to any agreement or law that restricts your ability to perform under these Terms; and
  4. Comply with all applicable laws, including the FTC's endorsement and disclosure guidelines and, for Canadian participants, the Competition Act and Ad Standards' Influencer Marketing Disclosure Guidelines.

Creator track. Creator-track participation requires an approved application and an active, public social media account (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook).

Refer a Friend track. The Refer a Friend track is open to Coverland customers with an active Coverland account. No application is required; your referral link and code are available through your account.

Coverland reserves the right to review, deny, suspend, or terminate any application or participant account, in either track, at any time, for any reason, in its sole discretion.

2. Enrollment, Account & Platform

The Program is managed and tracked via our third-party platform, Social Snowball. Creator-track participants receive dashboard access upon application approval; Refer a Friend participants receive their referral link and code through their Coverland account. In both cases you can view your referral link, personalized discount code, tracked sales, and payout setup.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must complete payout setup — including any required tax forms (e.g., W-9 for US participants, W-8BEN for Canadian participants) and banking or PayPal information — before commissions can be paid.

3. Referral Links, Discount Codes & Tracking

Upon approval, you will receive a unique referral link (e.g., snwbl.io/coverland.com/affiliate code) and a personalized discount code.

Tracking. Commissions are credited only when a customer clicks your referral link or enters your discount code at checkout, and the sale is correctly recorded by Social Snowball. Link-based attribution uses a thirty (30) day cookie window: a purchase completed within 30 days of the customer's click on your referral link is attributed to you, subject to the customer not subsequently clicking another creator's link (last-click attribution). Coverland is not responsible for tracking failures caused by user error, browser settings, ad blockers, cleared cookies, or technical issues outside our control.

Discount code. Your code gives your audience 10% off their first order and is valid for new Coverland customers only. Codes are subject to availability and may be changed via your dashboard. If you change your code, the old code stops tracking immediately; it is your responsibility to update your links everywhere you have posted them.

No stacking. Creator discount codes cannot be combined with other discount codes or with automatically applied sitewide promotions. If a sitewide promotion is active at checkout, the customer receives whichever single discount the checkout applies; only orders tracked to your link or code earn commission.

4. Commissions & Qualifying Sales

Commission. You earn a 10% cash commission on the net product sales amount of every Qualifying Sale, in both tracks. "Net product sales amount" excludes shipping fees, taxes, and any discounts applied.

Qualifying Sale. A Qualifying Sale is a first-time order placed by a new Coverland customer that is correctly tracked to your link or code. A Qualifying Sale does not include:

  1. Purchases made by you, your employees, or members of your household (self-referral);
  2. Orders that are canceled, refunded, or charged back;
  3. Repeat orders from existing Coverland customers;
  4. Gift card purchases, and the portion of any order paid using a gift card;
  5. Orders generated through coupon-aggregation sites, spam, bot traffic, or any fraudulent or prohibited activity (see Section 9);
  6. Shipping fees, taxes, and other non-product charges.

Gift cards. Gift card purchases are not eligible for commission, and the portion of any order paid with a gift card is excluded from the net product sales amount.

Pre-orders. Pre-order purchases qualify for commission. Because pre-order lead times run 1–16 weeks, the commission on a pre-order is recorded when the order is placed and paid, but the hold period in Section 5 runs from the date the order ships — aligning the hold with the customer's actual return window. A pre-order canceled before shipment never becomes a Qualifying Sale.

Coverland may modify commission rates, eligible products, or qualification rules at any time. Changes take effect prospectively and will be reflected in your dashboard or communicated by email.

5. Payment Terms

Minimum threshold. Commissions are paid once your approved balance reaches $25 USD. Balances below the threshold roll over and do not expire.

Commission hold. All commissions are subject to a thirty (30) day hold — from the date of the Qualifying Sale for in-stock orders, or from the ship date for pre-orders — matching Coverland's 30-day return window. Commissions on returned or refunded orders are reversed.

Payout schedule. Payouts run on a monthly cycle: commissions that have cleared the hold period are processed each month and disbursed during the first week of the following month.

Currency and methods. Payouts are calculated in USD and issued via the payout methods you configure in Social Snowball (e.g., PayPal, bank transfer). Currency conversion and payment-provider fees, including USD-to-CAD conversion for Canadian participants, are your responsibility.

Taxes. You are an independent contractor (Section 12) and are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on commissions earned. Coverland (or Social Snowball on its behalf) may issue a Form 1099 or other tax documentation where required by law.

6. No Guaranteed Product or Rewards

The Program is a cash-commission program. Participation does not entitle you to free product, samples, or gifts. Coverland may, at its sole discretion, provide product for content creation purposes; any such product is provided as-is, remains subject to these Terms (including the disclosure requirements in Section 8), and does not create any entitlement to future product.

7. Content Standards & Claims Policy

You agree to promote Coverland products truthfully and in a manner consistent with your genuine experience. This section applies to any content you create or share promoting Coverland ("Content"), in either track — including social posts, videos, blogs, and public messages. Your Content must meet the following standards.

Approved claims only. You may only make factual claims about Coverland products that appear on coverland.com or in materials we provide to you. Approved claims include:

  • Custom fit by vehicle Year/Make/Model, developed with 3D laser scanning
  • Car covers: 100% waterproof, blocks 99.96% of UV rays, Anti-Gust 3-strap system rated for winds up to 50 mph, lab-tested by SGS and Intertek
  • Seat covers: airbag compatibility verified by MGA Research; compatible with heated, cooled, and ventilated seats; tool-free installation
  • Floor mats: premium TPE, latex-free, BPA-free, PVC-free
  • 2M+ vehicles protected; 20+ years in business
  • "Designed in California" / "Designed in the USA"

Certification accuracy. Certifications must never be misattributed. SGS and Intertek testing applies to car covers; MGA Research airbag testing applies to seat covers. Do not state or imply that car covers are airbag-tested or that seat covers are SGS-certified.

Prohibited claims. You must not:

  • State or imply that Coverland products are "Made in the USA" or identify any country of manufacture;
  • Make safety guarantees beyond the approved claims (e.g., "guaranteed to deploy safely in a crash");
  • Invent or exaggerate specifications, warranty terms, pricing, or promotions;
  • Represent website product images as photographs of a customer's specific vehicle;
  • Misstate return, warranty, or shipping policies.

Comparative content. Content comparing Coverland to competitor products is permitted, provided every comparative claim is truthful, substantiated, and based on verifiable product characteristics. You must not disparage competitors, misrepresent their products, or make superiority claims you cannot support.

Professionalism. Your Content must not contain profanity, nudity, violence, discrimination, or illegal or objectionable material, and you must not engage in conduct that brings Coverland into public disrepute.

8. FTC Disclosure Requirements

You must clearly and conspicuously disclose your material connection to Coverland in every piece of Content through which you could earn a commission, in compliance with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (and, for Canadian participants, applicable Canadian disclosure standards). This applies to both tracks: because you earn a cash commission, sharing your link or code publicly — on social media, in a blog, in a review, or anywhere your audience may not know you benefit — requires disclosure, even in the Refer a Friend track. Sharing your link privately with a friend or family member who knows you'll receive a commission does not require formal disclosure, but you must never misrepresent the relationship.

  • Disclosures must be prominent and placed before the audience engages with your link or code — e.g., #ad, #sponsored, #CoverlandPartner, or a clear verbal disclosure early in video content.
  • Burying disclosures in a block of hashtags, below a "Read More" fold, or only in a pinned comment is prohibited.
  • Disclosure is required even for Content featuring gifted product.
  • Paid ads you run under Section 9 must carry all disclosures required by the ad platform and applicable law.

Coverland monitors Creator accounts and may withhold commissions or terminate your account for failure to disclose properly.

9. Prohibited Practices & Paid Advertising Rules

Paid advertising. You may run paid ads promoting your Coverland Content, link, or code, subject to the restrictions below. You may not bid on Coverland trademarked terms — including "Coverland," "Coverland USA," "coverland.com," and common misspellings or close variants — in paid search advertising (brand PPC), whether as keywords or in ad copy that implies you are Coverland.

Prohibited practices. Any of the following is a material breach of these Terms and will result in immediate termination and forfeiture of all pending commissions:

  • Brand PPC as described above;
  • Posting your code or link on coupon, discount, or deal-aggregation websites (e.g., RetailMeNot, Honey, Slickdeals);
  • Using bots, click farms, incentivized clicks, or other automated or deceptive traffic methods;
  • Registering domains, social handles, or accounts that copy, resemble, or imply official affiliation with Coverland;
  • Sending unsolicited commercial email or messages (spam) promoting Coverland;
  • Self-referral, reselling Coverland products, or placing orders with payment methods you are not authorized to use.

10. Intellectual Property & Licenses

Coverland's IP. Coverland grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to use Coverland's trade names, logos, trademarks, and approved marketing materials solely to promote the products under these Terms, and only in accordance with Coverland's brand guidelines as provided to you. You must not alter, recolor, distort, or modify Coverland's logos or marks. Coverland retains exclusive ownership of all its intellectual property.

License to your Content. By participating in the Program, you grant Coverland a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to repost, share, adapt (for formatting), and use your Content on Coverland's owned and operated channels — including coverland.com (and on-site features such as customer content feeds), social media, email, and SMS — for organic promotional purposes, including the right to use your name, handle, likeness, and voice as they appear in the Content. This license survives termination of these Terms with respect to Content created during your participation. Use of your Content in paid media (e.g., running your Content as an ad from Coverland's accounts) requires your separate written consent.

11. Confidentiality

You may receive non-public information through the Program — upcoming product launches, campaign plans, commission structures, or private community communications ("Confidential Information"). You agree to hold Confidential Information in strict confidence and not disclose it to any third party without Coverland's prior written consent. This obligation survives termination.

12. Independent Contractor Status

Your relationship with Coverland is that of an independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, agency, or joint-venture relationship. You have no authority to bind Coverland to any obligation, and you are solely responsible for your own expenses, equipment, and taxes.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Coverland, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your Content or conduct, including any paid advertising you run; (b) your violation of any law, regulation, or FTC guideline; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) any actual or alleged infringement of third-party rights by your Content.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coverland shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of revenue, profits, or data, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Program. Coverland's cumulative liability to you under these Terms shall not exceed the total commissions paid to you in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Coverland makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Program or the Social Snowball platform, and disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. (Product warranties for purchased goods are governed by Coverland's standard product warranty, not these Terms.)

15. Term & Termination

Term. These Terms apply for as long as you participate in the Program.

Termination by you. You may terminate at any time by written notice to Coverland.

Termination by Coverland. Coverland may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, immediately upon notice.

Effect of termination. Upon termination, you must stop representing yourself as a Coverland affiliate and cease all active promotion using your links and codes. Existing organic posts published during your participation may remain live, though your code and link will stop tracking and may be deactivated. Coverland will pay legitimately earned commissions that have cleared the hold period, provided you have not breached these Terms; commissions from fraudulent or prohibited activity are forfeited. Sections 10 (Content license), 11, 12, 13, 14, and 17 survive termination.

16. Modifications to the Terms

Coverland may modify these Terms, the commission structure, or program rules at any time. Changes will be posted in your dashboard or communicated by email and apply prospectively. Continued participation after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, your sole recourse is to terminate your participation.

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Binding arbitration. Any dispute arising from or relating to the Program or these Terms will be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable rules, in Orange County, California.

Class action waiver. You and Coverland agree that proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to a jury trial.
