Coverland Return Policy: How Returns and Refunds Actually Work

Published: 09/28/2026

If you're looking for the Coverland return policy, here it is: you have 30 days from delivery to return your order for a full refund, and none of it is tied to leaving, changing, or removing a review. The quick version is below, followed by exactly how the process works step by step, including the parts that can slow a refund down and who's actually responsible for each part of the timeline.

Quick Answer

  • 30-day return window, measured from delivery date
  • Prepaid FedEx or UPS return label, no cost to you
  • No restocking fees on standard returns
  • Refund goes to your original payment method
  • 3-5 business days for us to inspect your return, 1-2 more business days for our team to process the refund, then 1-2 billing cycles for your bank to post it
  • Never conditional on a review

Steering wheel cover returns follow this same 30-day window, with one difference: the original $10 shipping fee isn't refunded unless the item arrived defective, damaged, or wrong.

Return Process Overview: five numbered steps — email support, get a prepaid label, drop off at FedEx or UPS, we inspect, refund issued — with contact info for support@coverland.com and (800) 799-5165.

How the Return Process Works

Step 1: Email us your order number and the reason for the return

Send a message to Support@Coverland.com with your order number and a short note on why you're sending the item back. That's the only information we need to open the return. You don't need to fill out a separate form or log into a portal first.

Step 2: We reply with a prepaid shipping label

Customer service responds within 24-48 hours with a prepaid FedEx or UPS label attached to the email. If you reach out Friday afternoon or over the weekend, the label may not go out until Monday. Print it, tape it to the box, and you're covered. There's no cost to you for return shipping, and no need to purchase your own label and wait on reimbursement.

Step 3: Drop the package off within 30 days of delivery

Take the package to any FedEx or UPS location. The 30-day window is measured from the date your order was delivered, not the date you purchased it, so check your delivery confirmation email if you're not sure where you stand. Dropping it a day or two before the deadline is fine as long as it's scanned in by the carrier.

Step 4: We inspect the return

Refund timeline bar with three stages: inspection with a clipboard and magnifying glass icon, 3–5 business days; refund processing with a card and return arrow icon, 1–2 business days; and bank posting with a bank and clock icon, 1–2 billing cycles, labeled 'handled by your bank.

Once the package arrives at our Fullerton, California warehouse, our Care Experts examine the item and log why it came back, information we use to catch recurring fit or material issues before they affect other orders. This step typically takes 3-5 business days. There's no restocking fee on returns made within the 30-day window (that's different from a warranty claim, which follows a separate process). Refunds aren't held up for any reason outside these four conditions: the original or correctly sized box, the exact item you ordered, every component included, and resalable, unused condition. A return shipped in an oversized box (for seat covers, car covers, or floor mats) gets a $30 shipping charge deducted from the refund — see our full return policy for exact box dimensions.

Step 5: We process the refund, then your bank posts it

Once your return is marked refundable, our team submits the refund request, which takes another 1-2 business days before it's issued to your original payment method. After that, it takes 1-2 billing cycles for your card issuer or bank to actually post it to your statement. That last part is on your bank, not us, even though it can feel like the delay is on our end.

International and Non-Mainland Orders

Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories (American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) get the same 30-day return window, though return shipping is on you instead of a prepaid label. For any other international destination, including Canada, Coverland doesn't currently accept returns.

Refunds Are Never Tied to Reviews

Refunds at Coverland are never conditional on updating or changing a review. If you were told otherwise, contact us at Support@Coverland.com immediately.

We're stating this directly because it matters. A refund and a review are two separate things, and one should never be used as leverage against the other. If a conversation with our team ever implied that reviewing us more favorably would speed up or unlock a refund, that's not how we operate, and we want to know about it.

What Actually Causes Refund Delays

Three refund delay causes: bank dispute hold, PayPal processing (3–5 days slower than card), and carrier delay."

Most delays trace back to one of three things, and none of them involve Coverland holding onto your money.

Bank Dispute Holds

If you file a chargeback with your card issuer instead of going through us directly, your bank freezes those funds until the dispute closes on their end. That process runs independently of anything we do and typically takes longer than a standard return, since it's governed by your bank's dispute resolution timeline rather than ours.

PayPal Processing

PayPal refunds usually run 3-5 business days slower than a credit card refund. That's PayPal's processing timeline, not a delay on our end, and it applies the same way regardless of which merchant you're buying from.

Return Carrier Delays

If FedEx or UPS is running behind, or your package sits in a regional sorting facility, our refund clock doesn't start until the item is scanned in at our warehouse. In rare cases tracking shows delivered before the package is actually logged in on our end. When that happens, the return is delayed until the item is confirmed in our system, and there isn't an updated timeline to share until you reach out and ask. Check your tracking number if a return seems to be taking longer than expected, since that's usually where the holdup is.

If You're Still Waiting After 14 Days

If it's been more than 14 days since you shipped your return and you haven't heard back or received your refund, don't wait it out. Email Support@Coverland.com or call (800) 799-5165 and ask for a return escalation. Someone will look at your specific case directly instead of routing you through the standard queue, and we'd rather hear from you than have you assume the worst.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a Coverland refund take?

3-5 business days for us to inspect the return, plus 1-2 more business days to process the refund, then 1-2 billing cycles for your bank to post it.

Do I pay for return shipping?

No. We provide the prepaid label, so return shipping costs nothing out of pocket.

What if I'm outside the 30-day window?

Contact customer service. Cases outside the standard window are reviewed individually, and we'd rather look at the specifics than turn you away automatically.

I filed a credit card dispute. What now?

The funds are held by your bank until the dispute closes. Contact us directly to resolve it instead of waiting on the dispute process, since we can usually move faster than a bank-side dispute review.

Are custom-fit products eligible for returns?

Yes. Coverland offers 30-day, hassle-free returns on every order, including custom-fit car covers, seat covers, and floor mats.

Can I exchange an item instead of getting a refund?

Yes. Contact customer service and we'll check availability of your replacement before you send anything back. Once we receive your original item, the replacement typically arrives within 2-3 business days at no additional cost.

If anything here doesn't match what you were told directly by our team, that's worth flagging. This page reflects how Coverland returns and refunds actually work, and it's the version we want you to hold us to.
